Job Description
On behalf of our public sector client, we are looking for a Business Analyst for a contract of up to 24 months, with a possible extension beyond this term in exceptional circumstances. The initial engagement is anticipated to be for six months, followed by potential renewals of up to 18 months. This is a primarily remote position, but our client reserves the right to call the candidate to come to the office for meetings, etc., without paying extra expenses.
Project Context:
Our client is seeking a Business Analyst to support ongoing and upcoming public sector initiatives. The selected candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to analyze business needs, define requirements, and ensure the successful implementation of solutions. A mandatory performance review may be conducted during the contract, and if performance is found unsatisfactory, Manitoba reserves the right to take further action, including contract termination.
Responsibilities:
- Gather, document, and analyze business requirements to support project objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify process improvements and recommend solutions.
- Develop functional specifications and use cases to guide development teams.
- Facilitate meetings and workshops to elicit requirements and ensure alignment.
- Support testing activities, including test case development and validation.
- Assist with change management and training efforts to ensure smooth adoption of solutions.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation for project stakeholders.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce in Information Technology or an equivalent field
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience working as a program business analyst
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience documenting/conducting process re-engineering
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience writing use cases
- Minimum of seven (7) years working in a public sector environment
- Must possess high-level communication, consulting, and client relationship skills. The analyst must be able to clearly communicate complex technical and business concepts to clients (internal or external) and team members, and negotiate change.
- Must be capable of effectively identifying and framing problems, leading the collection of elements of information, and integrating this information to produce timely and thoughtful decisions.
- A Clean Criminal Record Check
- Knowledge of the Business Analysis Book of Knowledge (BABOK)
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Accreditation from a Business Analyst professional association (Preferred)
- Experience working in Manitoba
