Job Posting: Bilingual DB Pension Administrator

Contract Dates: Start ASAP -September 15, 2024

Location: Fully remote, anywhere in Canada (EST time zone, between 8am – 6pm)

We're seeking a Bilingual DB Pension Administrator to join our client's team. This role involves complex pension calculations, with the opportunity for training and growth. While prior experience in pension administration is beneficial, we welcome candidates with a background in financial services who possess strong analytical skills and a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of defined benefit pension plans, including member inquiries, benefit calculations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform complex pension calculations accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with plan rules and regulations.
  • Utilize Excel and other tools to analyze pension data, identify trends, and generate reports for stakeholders.
  •  Maintain accurate records of pension transactions, member communications, and plan documents.
  • Communicate effectively with plan members, colleagues, and external stakeholders in both English and French.
  • Stay informed about pension legislation and regulatory requirements, ensuring adherence to all relevant laws and guidelines.
  • Provide timely and helpful assistance to plan members regarding pension inquiries, benefit options, and retirement planning.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including HR, finance, and legal departments, to support pension-related initiatives and projects.
  •  Identify and resolve pension-related issues, discrepancies, and challenges in a proactive and timely manner.
  •  Recommend process improvements and efficiencies to enhance the administration of pension plans and services.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • Fluency in both English and French (written and spoken).
  • Previous experience in financial services, preferably in pension administration or retirement planning.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of pension regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a high level of accuracy in calculations and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Professional certification (e.g., Certified Employee Benefit Specialist, Certified Pension Consultant) is a plus.
