Job Description

Our client is recruiting for a pivotal role within their Fund Oversight team, focusing on managing financial reporting, fund valuations, and oversight responsibilities while collaborating with diverse internal and external stakeholders. They seek a collaborative individual with robust management abilities and a proven track record in problem-solving.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

  • Oversee the production and delivery of semi-annual and annual financial reports and management reports of fund performance in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and address audit queries.
  • Conduct reviews of financial statements and management reports to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Manage typesetting and translation processes for regulatory filings.
  • Prepare board packages and assist in reviewing annual prospectus filings and Fund Facts.
  • Stay updated on the latest financial reporting requirements in the investment funds industry.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill their reporting needs.

Valuations:

  • Supervise pricing processes supporting portfolio valuations and collaborate with service providers to obtain pricing and corporate action information.
  • Coordinate with investment management for valuation updates as necessary.
  • Manage Valuation Committee operations.

Fund Oversight:

  • Oversee mutual fund operations, including fund valuation, financial reporting, and compliance, in collaboration with third-party service providers.
  • Implement and review oversight procedures to ensure accurate net asset values.
  • Oversee the implementation of fund-related policies and charters.
  • Support new fund product initiatives and fund-related changes.

Operations Oversight:

  • Supervise securities lending and counterparty governance programs to ensure compliance with governance frameworks.

Others:

  • Lead and develop staff members.
  • Assist in special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) required.
  • 6-8 years of accounting experience in the mutual funds/financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of fund accounting, valuations, and compliance rules.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of InvestOne and Bloomberg considered an asset.
