Job Description

Our client, a multi-service landscaping and design company based in Ottawa is currently seeking a Controller to join their team. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Conduct account reconciliations to verify accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Assist in budget and forecast preparation.
• Perform financial analysis to detect trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare and submit tax returns to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Provide financial guidance and support to clients.
• Collaborate with internal teams for precise and timely financial reporting.
• Stay informed about industry trends and accounting standards changes.
• Oversee payroll administration.
• Plan, establish, and manage accounting systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• Thorough understanding of financial services and accounting principles.
• Experienced in account analysis and bank reconciliation.
• Capable of conducting budgeting and forecasting.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis.
• Strong communication skills for client and internal interactions.
• Analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities.
• Familiarity with payroll procedures and regulations.
• Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of the landscape or construction industry is preferred.
