Job Description

On behalf of our public sector client, we are seeking a Business Consultant for a one-year contract, with possible extension.

The Business Consultant will collaborate closely with key stakeholders across the University to develop and lead projects aimed at enhancing value for staff and academics. This role involves improving processes and service delivery within research administration, working closely with the project team to engage various business areas for the examination and potential redesign of operational processes.

**Responsibilities:**

- Lead and document strategic plans aligning with the Department's vision.

- Identify and initiate projects to realize this vision.

- Facilitate workshops and focus groups with stakeholders.

- Prepare and present strategies and reports to committees and project groups.

- Deliver presentations on initiatives or issues to executives, steering committees, and other stakeholders.

- Assist in risk and issues management.

- Develop and implement change management and communication plans.

- Create business cases through consultative approaches with stakeholders, outlining benefits and performance indicators.

- Document background, descriptions, analyses, alternatives, impacts, risks, recommendations, implementation strategies, and approval processes for initiatives/projects.

- Ensure the quality and consistency of documentation during business case development.

- Identify risks and dependencies associated with business cases.

**Qualifications:**

- Proven experience in leading business operations process and technology changes within complex environments.

- Demonstrated experience in managing projects focused on research administration.

- Strong foundation in organizational change management principles and project delivery.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Experience in a post-secondary institution is preferred.

- Certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, or in organizational change management are advantageous.

- An MBA is also considered a valuable asset.
