Job Description

We are currently recruiting for our client in the nonprofit sector, seeking a Financial Analyst to join their team for a 6 month contract . The Financial Analyst provides technical expertise and analytical support to our client and affiliated organizations in matters of financial policy development, management accounting best practices, and financial reporting. This role involves budget analysis, cash flow management, operational reporting, and investment strategy recommendations. The Financial Analyst also contributes to process improvement initiatives and ensures adherence to financial reporting policies. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of integrated budget analysis, financial reporting, and cash flow management strategies.
  • Consult with stakeholders to determine financial analysis and reporting needs.
  • Provide quality service to client departments and affiliated organizations.
  • Analyze financial and budgeting information and seek improvements in accounting processes.
  • Optimize short-term and long-term investment management in collaboration with investment managers.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental and corporate budgets.
  • Prepare operational budgets, analyze results, and provide cost/benefit analysis.
    Implement Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) by preparing worksheets and journals.
  • Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for financial and treasury management decisions.
  • Support financial analysis for committees and boards.
  • Conduct research on financial policies and practices.
  • Contribute to the development of financial reports and statements.
  • Recommend improvements supporting efficiency and effectiveness of financial processes.
  • Lead ongoing projects for the client and affiliated organizations.
  • Develop and improve financial systems and management processes.
  • Participate in system implementation initiatives and data migration reconciliation efforts.
  • Provide expertise and cross-training to colleagues.
  • Act as a resource for budgeting, financial reporting, and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with departments on budgets, processes, and policies.

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business or commerce.
  • Completion of a recognized designation (CPA) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience, ideally in a nonprofit environment.
  • Proficiency in financial applications, spreadsheet analysis, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and on cross-functional teams.
