Job Description
On behalf of our public sector client, we are looking for a Product Manager for a 6 months contract, with possible extension. This is a hybrid position, working 2 days per week onsite.
**Responsibilities:**
- Lead product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and ensuring alignment with the companys strategic goals.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer experiences to identify and address product gaps, generate innovative ideas to increase market share, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Advocate for and secure internal and external support for the product vision.
- Develop pricing and positioning strategies for the product.
- Convert product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes.
- Prioritize tasks based on their business impact and customer benefits.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure products are developed within timelines and resource allocations.
- Coordinate product launches, working closely with the public relations team, executives, and other product management team members.
- Assess promotional plans to ensure they align with the product line strategy and effectively communicate the intended message.
- Serve as a product evangelist to enhance product awareness and understanding.
- Engage with customers directly to gather feedback on company products and services.
**General Skills:**
- Proven experience in delivering Market Requirements Documents (MRDs) and Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) with prioritized features and justifications.
- Demonstrated ability to work with external third parties to evaluate partnerships and licensing opportunities.
- Experience managing beta and pilot programs for early-stage products and becoming an expert in competitive analysis.
- Strong teamwork capabilities and a track record of meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
- Experience in client relationship management.
**Deliverables:**
- The primary focus is to drive planning and requirements development for integrating a managed service vendor to support and augment the current transit team. This involves working with procurement and vendor teams to define requirements, negotiate contracts, and oversee full implementation.
**Additional Terms:**
- Public sector experience required.
- The position requires 2 days per week onsite near Union Station, working 7.25 hours per day.
- The initial contract term is 6 months with the possibility of extension.
