Job Description

One of our clients is looking for a Program consultant to join the team on part-time basis. They are committed to leveraging technology to foster a unified healthcare environment throughout the nation. We aim to enhance healthcare accessibility, alleviate the strain on healthcare personnel, and realize substantial cost efficiencies across various systems. Our collaboration with Health Canada and regional authorities has led to the creation of the Shared Pan-Canadian Interoperability Roadmap, outlining universal standards to facilitate the secure exchange of health information across diverse systems and platforms.

Our extensive network spans various jurisdictions, sectors, and key stakeholders, including patients, clinicians, and government bodies, enabling us to champion the cause of digital health transformation. This initiative focuses on providing patients with secure access to their electronic health records and supporting healthcare providers in the electronic exchange of patient information, thereby promoting patient-centered care and streamlining the healthcare process across Canada.

As an independent, not-for-profit entity, we are funded by the federal government and positioned uniquely to drive advancements in connected care.

Role Purpose:

The Nursing Champion will collaborate with Client's Clinical team to offer nursing leadership and expertise, sharing insights from the frontline to enhance Clinical Innovation program activities and other Client projects. This role is crucial in advancing connected care objectives and engaging nursing stakeholders to support the adoption of interoperability-focused services and tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and provide expert clinical and thought leadership to internal teams for engaging, planning, and developing current and future connected care initiatives that align with national requirements.
  • Facilitate regional and national collaborative engagement among nursing leaders to foster support for connected care through clinical innovation, including representing Client at relevant events.
  • Sustain relationships with national and key regional nursing stakeholders to address interoperability challenges, risks, and issues.
  • Engage in and contribute to nursing communities of practice and/or working groups as necessary.
  • Offer guidance on professional practice, clinical requirements, and implications to internal and external stakeholders concerning connected care activities.
  • Input strategically on clinical value, acceptance, integration, and utilization of digital health solutions in practice settings, focusing on emerging trends and issues relevant to Client's connected care initiatives Roadmap.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, evaluating, and revising practice-based materials, educational content, success stories, toolkits, and related documentation for the program as needed.

Knowledge and Skills:

Education & Certifications:

  • Required: Undergraduate Degree in a health discipline
  • Preferred: Master’s level education
  • Must be a registered nurse or nurse practitioner, licensed in one or more Canadian jurisdictions
  • Membership in good standing with relevant clinical associations/organizations/regulatory bodies

Experience & Skills:

  • A minimum of 7 years of recent clinical and leadership experience
  • At least 2 years in Education, Administration, or Project Management
  • Proven experience in the implementation and adoption of health information systems across various care settings
  • Comprehensive understanding of Digital Health Solutions
  • Experience in health systems, policy development, change management, evaluation, and research is an asset
  • Proficient in complex analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving
  • Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Professional conduct in digital environments is essential
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is beneficial
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time

Other Requirements:

  • CPHIMS-CA designation is an asset
