Job Description

Our leading health care client is looking for 2 Program Consultants to join their team on a part time basis (8-16 hours/week) for a one year term. 

They are looking for one resource in Alberta and one in New Brunswick or Nova Scotia. This role is primarily remote with the possibility of some travel.

Reporting To: Senior Director

Our client aim to enhance care accessibility, alleviate human health resource strain, and generate substantial cost savings across healthcare systems. Our mission supports the the Shared Pan-Canadian Interoperability Roadmap, offering guidance to governments, health system managers, and industry stakeholders on essential standards for secure health information exchange.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership, thought leadership, and subject matter expertise to internal teams, aiding in clinical engagement, planning, and development of connected care initiatives.
  • Drive collaborative engagement of clinicians regionally or nationally to foster support for connected care initiatives through clinical innovation.
  • Cultivate relationships with regional associations and key clinical stakeholders to understand interoperability challenges and opportunities.
  • Actively contribute to clinical communities of practice and/or working groups.
  • Offer guidance and support on professional practice, clinical requirements, and implications for connected care activities.
  • Provide strategic insights on clinical value, acceptance, integration, and use of digital health solutions within practice settings.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of practice-based reference material and toolkits.

Education & Certifications:

  • Undergraduate Degree in a health discipline required.
  • Masters level education is an asset, MD or Doctor of Medicine preferred.
  • Membership in relevant clinical associations/organizations/regulatory bodies required.
  • CPHIMS-CA designation is an asset.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Practicing clinician, licensed in one or more Canadian jurisdictions.
  • 7+ years of recent clinical and leadership experience.
  • 2 years’ experience in Education, Administration, or Project Management.
  • Experience in implementing and adopting health information systems at local, regional, provincial, or national levels.
  • Broad knowledge of Digital Health Solutions and informatics 
  • Experience in health systems, policy development, change management, evaluation, and research is advantageous.
  • Experience with EPIC, EMR (electronic medical records) Infomatics SNOMEDE, FHIR
  • Connected care experience 
  • Proficiency in complex analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate appropriate professional conduct in the digital realm.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.

Nice to Have:

  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English is an asset.
