Job Description

One of our top real estate clients based in Ottawa is seeking a detail-oriented, passionate, and results-driven Human Resources Generalist to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis! The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the day-to-day operations, responsible for recruitment and onboarding, assisting with training and development programs, employee relations, employee engagement and surveys, reporting, and providing administrative support to the Director of Human Resources. 

This role requires you to work onsite for the first 3 months, with some flexibility once this individual is settled into the position.

Duties:

  • Oversee recruitment process, from crafting job descriptions to conducting screen calls and interviews. 
  • Collaborate with department managers to provide shortlists of qualified candidates and enhance recruitment practices.
  • Proactively source passive candidates to expand talent pool.
  • Coordinate new employee onboarding for seamless transitions.
  • Assist in developing and implementing talent management programs, including identifying high-potential employees and researching training methods.
  • Provide confidential advice on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution.
  • Contribute to strategies for enhancing employee engagement and satisfaction, including conducting surveys and acting on feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, maintaining accurate employee records, and managing HR information systems.
  • Conduct employee exit interviews, identify trends, and make recommendations for effective change. 
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar human resources coordinator/generalist role. 
  • Post-secondary education or suitable professional training and experience as an alternative.  
  • Previous experience using an HRIS (bambooHR is considered an asset). 
  • Knowledge of Ontario employment laws and practices.
  • Effective oral and written communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with ability to multitask and prioritize. 
  • Professionalism, attention to detail and discretion.
  • Working towards CHRP designation is considered a strong asset.
