Our reputable client in the financial services sector is seeking a Pension Service Representative to join their team!
This is a hyrbid role based out of their Calgary office and is hybrid (3 days onsite; 2 days work from home).
Roles and Responsibilities
- Process benefit payments in accordance with Plan rules and Legislation
- Peer review of benefit payments, and non-standard communications
- Communicate, written and verbal, with members, trustees, trust fund advisors and service organizations, local unions, plan beneficiaries, regional offices, etc.
- Understand and apply the terms of the Plan Text
- Maintain member records
- Prepare monthly reports
- Meet with plan members to assist with completion of benefit application forms
- Assist with special projects
- Other administrative duties as required/assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- 1+ years of experience in the administration of Defined Benefit Pension Plans
- Knowledge of the Pension Benefits Act of Ontario
- Strong aptitude for figures
- Ability to prioritize and manage a varied work environment is essential
- High degree of initiative self starter
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel
- Working knowledge of database management systems
- Excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail/accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential
- Availability and willingness to work overtime, as required
- Willingness to be involved with continuing education, as required
- Customer service background with outgoing/positive attitude
