Job Description
Seeking a Senior Governance Manager that will also provide a focus on Risk Management and Compliance. This is a PERMANENT position with a nonprofit organization. Ideally starting in May.
Full time hours Monday to Friday. Must be available to work a hybrid model (2-3 days a week onsite). Location: Nepean (south).
Duties:
- Maintain and develop corporate policies, procedures, and standards
- Maintain corporate governance records
- Lead board governance that also includes recruitment and continuous learning
- Recommend and guide up to date corporate governance, compliance practices and trends
- Ensure the organization is in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Provide guidance to managers on risk management, compliance requirements and internal control procedures
- Manage the internal audit function
- Prepare reports: governance, integrity, risk assessments, compliance, and internal audit reports
- Lead ERM (Enterprise Risk Management) program and implement risk management processes
- Lead and manage staff, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and providing feedback.
- Plan and oversee human resources needs, including hiring and managing disciplinary actions.
- Ensure efficient operations, monitor performance, and drive improvement
- Prepare budgets, monitor expenditures, validate and approve expenses and ensure costs are controlled
Requirements:
- At least 5+ years of experience in Governance within a medium or large corporation or nonprofit
- Strong understanding of policy development and framework establishment
- Must have a University Degree
- Criminal record check
- Valid G drivers license or equivalent and use of a vehicle for business purposes.
