Job Description

Our healthcare and research client is currently seeking a Program Coordinator (Indigenous Wellness Initiatives) to join their growing team. The incumbent will be responsible for providing guidance and coaching to support collaborative approaches to apply a health equity lens to implementation models, content expertise and evidence-based tools and practices with internal staff, external organizations, and stakeholders. Additionally, they will support the active involvement of Indigenous communities and service providers in all stages of implementation, providing tailored and contextualized support at an agency and system level.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Applying and integrating evidence informed approaches to change. This includes Implementation Science, Quality Improvement and service/system design to support system stakeholders to adopt new practices within Indigenous communities.
  • Provide guidance related to equity, anti-racism, and anti-oppression to strengthen internal practices to support the implementation and evaluation of models across sites.
  • Develop and support strategies to promote an ongoing learning culture for integrating equity.
  • Understand and review trends, monitoring and evaluating data, to identify gaps and opportunities to strengthen equitable service delivery into program and project planning.
  • Identifying, engaging and fostering collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
  • Developing an understanding of the local mental health and substance use system in order to support contextualized implementation.
 QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • 2-5 years of experience in a similar position and minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably in the Indigenous health, and/or mental health and/or substance use.
  • Bachelor Degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in Health, Education or Social Services. 
  • Strong understanding of principles and practices of Indigenous engagement is required.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) and/or the ability to speak an Indigenous language is also considered an asset not not required.
