Job Description

Our leading retail beauty supply client is looking for an IT Technician Lead to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a new role which will report to the Director of Operations. 

This role will operate on a flexible hybrid model in the Mississauga office with some travel to the physical store locations. Please note, during the first couple months, the successful candidate will work ON SITE at the head office in Mississauga for training.

The IT Technician Lead will oversee and manage the company’s IT operations and infrastructure, providing hardware and software support to all team members while ensuring minimal system and user downtime. Collaborating closely with the Director of Operations, they will research and implement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance overall company operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure including network devices, servers, POS systems, and software applications.
  • Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of IT systems, conducting regular assessments to mitigate risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices in IT and data management.
  • Manage and maintain current IT infrastructure, minimizing system and user downtime.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance, particularly for NCR Counterpoint.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and escalate major issues to the Director of Operations.
  • Collaborate with the E-commerce team to optimize the company’s online platform.
  • Implement project management tools for IT projects, ensuring timely completion within scope and budget.
  • Develop and maintain an operations manual with IT policies and procedures.
  • Research and identify new technologies and processes to improve efficiency.
  • Develop KPIs for the IT department and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Identify potential vendors aligned with the company's vision and growth.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with initiative and ability to manage time and stress effectively.
  • Dependable, team player with a positive attitude and creativity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, with at least 5 years of experience in IT management.
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure,  and IT security best practices.
  • Experience with ERP systems, POS systems, and e-commerce platforms 
  • Experience with NCR Counterpoint an asset
  • Relevant certifications such as PMP are advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • G2 license and access to a reliable car.
