Job Description
Our client working in the Non-Profit space is hiring for a Director, Distribution and Grid Modernization to join their team starting on a 11 week contract basis. This position does have the potential to extend, but they are starting on a contract basis.
This contract is working in a hybrid working model, working two days onsite per week downtown Ottawa.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working on policy issues related to electricity distribution and will work dynamically to lead the activities of the assigned member committees.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the distribution council and related committees. This includes working with committee leadership, facilitating meetings, and actioning post meeting items.
- Project manage external consultant led projects.
- Facilitate strategic and technical discussions with members and external stakeholders.

Work with member committees on technical submissions on distribution issues, including advanced
metering, EV charging infrastructure, distributed energy integration, microgrids, storage, power
quality/harmonics standards, grid resiliency, joint use infrastructure, 5G deployment,
telecommunication, and network capacity constraints.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders.

Develop and provide regular issue updates for monthly, quarterly, and annual newsletters.
- Work collaboratively with cross functional teams
Qualifications:
- University degree in public policy, engineering, economics or related discipline.
- Work experience related to energy policy
- 5 years experience working in government, industry or trade association.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- No restrictions on lobbying under Lobbying Act.
- Fluent in English, French would be considered an asset.
