Our client in the Engineering sector is seeking an Accountant to join their team! This opportunity is a fulltime 1-year contract, which is a hybrid opportunity based out of Downtown Toronto.

The Accountant will play a crucial role in managing statutory reporting processes and audits for the Americas region. This position involves collaborating closely with the Senior Accountant and various teams to ensure compliance with regional statutory regulations while enhancing process efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare annual financial statements and reporting packages, including financial statement note disclosures, in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or local GAAP.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze supporting schedules and improve reporting efficiency and accuracy.
• Respond to audit requests and perform detailed variance analysis.
• Provide ad hoc support on company projects and initiatives.
• Collaborate with Senior Accountants to deliver timely reporting activities, complete audit requests, and contribute to technical accounting reports.
• Build strong relationships within the Global Financial Accounting Team, meet deadlines under pressure, and actively seek opportunities for personal development.

Required Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Economics.
• CPA designation or equivalent (or in progress).
• Experience in Financial Reporting, Finance, and Statutory Accounting.
• Application of core accounting principles to transactions.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
