Job Title: Webmaster (Remote)
Duration: 1 year
Location: Remote
Security Requirement: Reliability
Background: Work remotely on a dynamic team dedicated to ensuring the accessibility and functionality of the this Federal Government websites.
Responsibilities:
- Assist internal clients with migrating content to the intranet site
- Provide client consultations, page setup, review, and publishing
- Maintain the external website, including HTML coding and content publishing
- Design web layouts and simple graphic banners
- Deliver occasional training to internal staff
- Implement new functionality and update existing features
- Create documentation on systems and processes
- Assist with ongoing projects as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree or diploma in web development, software development, digital marketing, or computer science, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Webmaster or similar role, including digital communications and web development
- Proficiency in XML, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, SharePoint 2007, and 2010
- Experience with Government of Canada web standards and accessibility requirements
Deliverables:
- Updated webpages in English and French
- SharePoint page setup and configuration
- Technical documentation and manuals
- Prototypes and mock-ups
- Code, screens, and objects
- Test documentation
- Content archives
- Progress reports and updates
Language of Work: English
Level of Effort and Contract Duration: Full-time, 8AM 4PM MT, 1 year
Rated Requirements:
- Experience in website building, testing, and maintenance
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience with bilingual web content publishing for Government of Canada organizations
