About the Role:
Our federal government client is seeking a skilled GIS Data Architect to support and maintain our Geospatial Data Infrastructure, encompassing the ESRI ArcGIS suite of products, ArcSDE-Oracle-based geospatial databases, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online and Portal web map services, web-based mapping, and desktop-based applications. The successful candidate will ensure the infrastructure's scalability, robustness, and enterprise support, involving project management, capacity analysis, design, software installation, configuration, and geographic data architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and adhere to the established Data Policy and technical solutions for data management, storage, access, navigation, movement, and transformation.
- Manage database systems (DBMS) and Enhance Transform Load (ETL) tools for both structured and unstructured content.
- Develop data models for projects and contribute to refining the data architecture.
- Preserve strategic data assets amidst evolving applications and technologies.
- Deliver written reports on technical, business requirements, and data readiness, including data conversion analysis and associated costs.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 60 months of general Geomatics experience, demonstrated through project examples.
- At least 36 months of experience with ESRI and Oracle or SQL Server or PostgreSQL databases, focusing on data management, storage, access, movement, and transformation.
- Minimum 24 months of experience in creating data models for projects and examining/enforcing data reuse opportunities.
- 36 months of experience as an Oracle or SQL Server or PostgreSQL database analyst/administrator, including 2 years managing GIS data in such environments.
