Job Description

Altis Recruitment is currently assisting a dynamic client in their search for a Director of Finance and Administration. Our well-established and continuously growing client is seeking a strategic-minded individual to join their team. Reporting directly to the President, the Director of Finance will play a crucial role in driving the company's finance strategy, supporting decision-making processes, optimizing operational efficiencies, overseeing HR functions, and managing day-to-day accounting operations.

Roles and Responsibilities

Financial Strategy and Decision Support:

  • Collaborate with the President and senior management to set and support strategic priorities for the company.
  • Provide critical decision support through data analysis, reporting, and strategic insights, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry best practices.
  • Utilize ERP system to extract meaningful data and drive actionable recommendations for optimizing key business processes in collaboration with department leaders.

Operational Efficiency and Process Improvement:

  • Identify areas for process improvement to enhance customer experience and streamline operations, leveraging data-driven analysis.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs, comprehensive reports, dashboards, and visualizations to provide insights into business performance and support decision-making across the organization.
  • Oversee the production of financial statements and operational reports with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and strategic relevance.

Budgeting and Resource Allocation:

  • Lead the budgeting process and collaborate with department heads to align financial objectives with strategic initiatives, utilizing data-driven insights and recommending process improvements.
  • Ensure efficient resource allocation and cost management across the organization, supporting strategic decision-making with actionable insights derived from comprehensive reporting and analysis.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Manage and mentor the Accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Provide guidance and support to enable the team to meet organizational objectives effectively, promoting data-driven analysis as core competencies within the accounting and finance department

General Accounting:

  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of financial transactions with organizational goals and accounting standards.
  • Review accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and payment collections to monitor cash flow.
  • Manage monthly close process, collaborate with auditors for annual audits, and provide guidance to maintain internal controls and foster team development.

HR Functions:

  • Oversee HR functions, including the development and implementation of policies, procedures, performance management systems, and payroll changes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Collaborate with department heads to address employee needs and promote professional development opportunities.

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in finance, with a focus on strategic planning, decision support, and process improvement.
  • Strong proficiency in mid to large sized ERP systems and advanced Excel functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, PivotTables, advanced functions/formulas).
  • Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset and a track record of driving results.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities, with a collaborative and proactive approach to teamwork.

 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA, CGMA, or MBA preferred.
