Our client in the non-profit industry is looking for a Regulatory Specialist to join their team in Toronto. This position is full-time permanent and is hybrid (3 days a week in office). This role offers 3 weeks vacation, a full benefits package and more!
Reporting to the Manager of Licensing, The Regulatory Specialist is tasked with supporting the development, implementation, and execution of the Regulatory Decision-Making Project. This role will be responsible for obtaining and upholding all necessary permissions and approvals from government departments and ministries at both federal and provincial levels.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist in executing the work program to ensure all necessary permissions and approvals, including the completion of mandatory Impact Assessments and Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) licensing.
- Generate comprehensive information reports and compile meeting minutes, documents, or briefings pertinent to licensing and project deliverables.
- Administer record-keeping for the project to ensure adherence to corporate policies and regulatory criteria.
- Conduct routine compliance reviews of licensing documents submitted by department leads, ensuring adherence to standard document templates.
- Aid the supervisor in evaluating reports and documents associated with the Project.
- Conduct research and collaborate with internal subject matter experts and project team members to facilitate the production of regulatory submissions and outward-facing materials.

Qualifications and Skills
- A degree in Science, Policy, Engineering or a related field
- 4+ years of experience performing similar duties
- Proficiency in comprehending and articulating technical aspects related to regulatory affairs.
- Proven capability in grasping the licensing procedures for nuclear facilities.
- Demonstrated comprehension of the Impact Assessment Act.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong strategic planning and project management skills.
