Job Description

Our client, a leading reinsurance business, is seeking graduates of Actuarial Science, Computer Science, or Mathematics programs to join their team for a 1-year, paid internship opportunity. 

Successful candidates will join our client's Annuity Operations team and gain valuable experience in the reinsurance industry and support various aspects of annuity policy operations.

This is a hybrid opportunity requiring 4 days a week on site in downtown Toronto.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in documenting processes and procedures for annuity and reinsurance administration.
• Support group annuity onboarding and data preparation.
• Reconcile monthly reports with membership data and payments.
• Assist team members with internal and external inquiries and key initiatives.
• Develop and maintain internal relationships.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

• Excellent working knowledge of Python, Excel (VBA), and MS Access (SQL). Additional programming skills are a plus.
• Strong documentation skills.
• Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Analytical thinking and detail-oriented approach.

Assets:

• Educational background in actuarial science, mathematics, or computer science.
• Experience with end-user reporting tools (e.g., Power BI).
• Familiarity with factors affecting annuities and reinsurance products.
• Knowledge of pension plans is a plus.
