Job Description

Our client in the telecommunications industry, is seeking an HR Manager to join their growing team!

Reporting to the President, the HR Manager, Retail is responsible for providing strategic HR partnership to the retail team and supporting the day-to-day operations of the retail business. HR will play a key role in driving forward the HR strategies, initiatives, and projects across the retail business.

This is a permanent, fulltime role based out of their North York office (fully onsite) and some travel within the GTA may be required. cha

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Actively engage with the Retail leadership Team in the capacity of the primary HR Business Partner, contributing to strategic decisions aimed at achieving outstanding outcomes.
  • Foster an understanding of business challenges and objectives to enable a proactive approach to Human Resources initiatives.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to formulate talent acquisition and retention strategies. Proactively identify gaps, suggest remedies, and implement changes focusing on recruitment, retention, and employee growth.
  • Develop strategies for sourcing and securing top talent for open positions. Collaborate with hiring managers to define specific search criteria, ensuring timely action, cost-effective methods, and a positive candidate experience.
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of learning & development programs, encompassing onboarding, training, mentoring, and coaching. Oversee Performance Management processes to foster high performance and cultivate a culture of continuous feedback.
  • Contribute to employee development strategies and training programs, facilitating the progression of sales representatives into assistant or store managers. Lead succession planning efforts and anticipate future business needs to craft clear career paths for employees.
  • Stay attuned to team dynamics across all levels, serving as a liaison between the HR team and senior business leaders.
  • Offer consultation and coaching on matters pertaining to legal and procedural compliance, employee relations, workforce planning, talent and performance management, recruitment & selection, compensation, and organizational development.
  • Cultivate a positive work environment conducive to productivity and growth.
  • Propose enhancements to processes, ensuring cost efficiency and competitiveness within the industry.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively influence and build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders and confidential/sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and rapidly changing matrix environment, driving alignment and results with/without direct authority.
  • Capability and willingness to operate on both macro and micro
  • Sound analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills with an ability to understand broad complex business issues.

Education

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR
