Job Description

Altis Recruitment is looking for highly motivated and analytical Policy Analysts to join our talent pool for upcoming opportunities with our clients in the broader public sector.  The Policy Analyst will be responsible for conducting research, analyzing data, and developing policy recommendations to address a wide range of social, economic, and political issues.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public policy, excellent quantitative and qualitative analysis skills, and a passion for driving positive change through evidence-based decision-making.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Research: Conduct comprehensive research on relevant policy issues, including legislative proposals, regulatory changes, and emerging trends. Utilize a variety of sources, such as academic studies, government reports, and stakeholder perspectives, to gather relevant data and information.

  • Analysis: Evaluate the potential impact of proposed policies and regulations through quantitative and qualitative analysis. Develop models, simulations, and forecasts to assess the costs, benefits, and feasibility of different policy options. Identify potential unintended consequences and equity implications.

  • Policy Development: Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop policy recommendations that align with organizational goals and priorities. Draft policy briefs, reports, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to decision-makers and the public.

  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor the implementation of existing policies and programs, tracking key performance indicators and outcomes. Conduct evaluations to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of policy interventions, identifying areas for improvement and adaptation.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government officials, advocacy groups, industry representatives, and community organizations. Solicit input and feedback to inform policy development and ensure inclusive decision-making processes.

  • Communication: Communicate complex policy concepts and analyses effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Prepare written materials, presentations, and talking points for internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating clarity, accuracy, and persuasiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public policy, economics, political science, or a related field
  • Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in quantitative research methods and statistical analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear and compelling messages.
  • Experience conducting policy analysis and research in a professional or academic setting.
  • Knowledge of relevant policy areas, such as healthcare, education, environmental regulation, or economic development.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a demonstrated understanding of the social and political factors that shape policy outcomes.
